"Rest Of The Sign": The Psalmist ponders the record of the Prophet Jonah and the deeper meaning to come when YESHUAH declared “three days and nights in the belly of the whale”! Perhaps the Prophet receives a bad rap and just perhaps the deeper reasons for Jonah’s entire adventure remain a mystery to the sages and pundits. The Community Aliyah moves along into the Spring Mo’ed Season where the Prophet Ezekiel is encountered. The Psalmist resonates a sense of urgency amidst the trembling and patience awaiting further movement of THE LORD’s later day hand!

"Waiting Ends": The Psalmist resonates a message of urgency … since the Tishri 2017 great sign in the Heavens, the Aliyah has taken us from the Shmita of preparation into the Shmita of turmoil which continues without relent … the days grow short. It seems quite appropriate that the Aliyah moves once again into the writings of Jeremiah … the Weeping Prophet. Appropriate, for in these later days Israel/Jerusalem finds itself amidst tribulation from neighboring nations and has yet again captured the attention of the great Imperium. Although Jerusalem under tribulation might not seem to be anything extraordinary, let us consider how the global pot is assuredly boiling over while the Imperium seeks to maintain order amidst the rebellion and chaos. The world is like the frog that slowly boils yet is unaware that it is being cooked to death!
"Widows, Orphans & Strangers": Honing in on the early chapters of Jeremiah the Psalmist considers the basic Biblical precepts of Tzedakha and how such appeared to allude Israel … resulting in a serious breach of covenant. Yet the Psalmist also addresses a broader misconceived notion of Tzedakha which we know in modern times as “socialism”. So how righteous and effective is our worldly administration of Tsedakha? … Hmmm! The message can be found on Yochana's Light & Dark site page.
"The Tool": Yochana brings into remembrance the very special appointed nature and charge of the King of Babylon. Perhaps over time the sages and theologians spend not enough time considering the allegorical and literal nature of the Babylonian Imperium. Yet Scripture and the Prophets are clear that Babylon and her King have crucial roles to play as the later times race to their conclusion. "Price Paid": So, Israel has twice been horribly punished seeing the destruction of both Temple and Jerusalem. Once due to lack of covenantal compliance and then due to a lack of faith. Presently the Psalmist sees Israel suffering both maladies and questions if a third punishment … a double portion of the sword represents the foreboding Jacob’s Troubles? If indeed scales are balanced should we not expect to see the fury of THE LORD poured out once again on Jerusalem? In terms of just judgment why would Jerusalem be spared this time around as Biblical Prophecy declares? The Psalmist appears to be onto something very few if any care to address. "Zion’s Purge": Jeremiah’s Book of Lamentations, actually titled “ëykhäh”, has a reader naturally bring Av 9 into ominous remembrance. Yet the Psalmist is diligent in following clues and sets her focus on the broader notion of how Jerusalem’s greatest tragedies deal more with separation from GOD and the removal of HIS presence. Perhaps historical understanding of the 586 BCE and 70 CE destructions is lacking context without considering the first and most tragic exile. The Psalmist's Aliyah within THE WORD moves to the spectacular Messianic centric writings of the Prophet YeshaYAHhu (Isaiah) and we are blessed to receive three new inspired messages for these times. Along with the great prophecies concerning YESHUAH contained with the Prophet's writings, the Psalmist focuses upon the prophecies and patterns concerning Israel and the nations which are playing out these days in a most profound manner.
"A Dedication": Honing in on chapters 32-39 the Psalmist senses a familiar pattern at play ... a pattern for then and a pattern for now. The pattern of course being the "Controversy Over Zion". The pattern being the miraculous defense of Zion ... The pattern being the victory over local kingdoms yet the eventual fall to the Imperium ... Babylon! "Sign/'owth": Israel the light to the nations! As surely as people breathe in the air there will be much heated discussion and contention as to Israel's performing their sacred duty as a "light to the nations". No doubt this duty cannot be established without greater Israel coming first to the light of Messiah YESHUAH ... yet does such negate Israel as representing a supernatural "sign"? Does such negate Israel's special place despite her stiff neck? Does such mean that the nations should treat Israel as just another nation? "Still Not Afraid?": The Psalmist ponders chapters 45-51 and remains perplexed by a world that lacks fear of THE LORD. The story that would unfold thousands of years ago is destined to playout yet again. THE GREAT I AM has always and will always be the story! Who does not fear the cup of staggering and delusion ... who does not fear the wrath of THE GREAT I AM? "The Carcass": Oh so wise Solomon accurately declares the ultimate fate for the mortal body ... death and the great demise. Yet THE WORD, though agreeing with the fate of the "old man", also declares the potential glory for the "new man" which can happen through faith in YESHUAH in the blink of an eye. The Psalmist on this Aliyah segment through the writings of Solomon provides us with two additional soul resonant messages focusing upon the root of human endeavors and life itself!
“Hôlëlôt”: Solomon as Kohelet (the Preacher) leaves us with a mysterious clue which has assuredly resonated with the Psalmist. A clue which defines the razor thin line between boasting in GOD versus boasting in one’s self. Sadly, our so wise Solomon knows that crossing the line results in self-idolatry … results in sheer “madness”! It seems there is a problem with human free choice and that problem is “evil”!
"Seasons & Reasons": Kohelet launches into a drawn-out assessment regarding the vanity (uselessness) of human endeavors. Still further he challenges the vanity of life itself, even going so far to lament his own birthing into this world. The Psalmist cannot refute the lack of power of human existence or the inability to control fate … yet she can combat Kohelet regarding the value of life and the power of hope!

The Psalmist’s Aliyah continues from the Psalms/Tehillim to the writings of Solomon (Proverbs/Mishlei, Ecclesiastes/Kohelet, and Song Of Songs/Shir HaShirim). Yochana has graciously provided us initially with three soul resonant messages emanating from Proverbs: “Wisdom Of Solomon”, “Mashak” and “Beloved Ish’a”.
“Wisdom Of Solomon”: The Psalmist ponders the relationship between the “Man of Mystery” and “Wisdom as a Sister” … “the Bride” … “the Ezer” … and perhaps “the Comforter”! Surely, Solomon uses the prominent theme of “harlotry” to highlight Israel’s unfaithfulness and as such the Psalmist traces the thread right back to Moses … to the Covenant … to Tzitzit … to flowering and sparkling! Perhaps more exciting is the path forward to and after Messiah’s visitation! So, what is the price to be paid for “Wisdom”?
"Mashak": In Proverbs 13 Solomon presents us with an intimate and perhaps dire look into hope … or shall we say the heartbreak of waiting for what is desired! The Psalmist takes on the challenge presented by Solomon while utilizing the B’rit Chadasha to broadcast the “Why”, “For”, “What” and perhaps more surprisingly the “How” related to the hope of GOD’s children. Perhaps the heartbreak associated with hope is not that mysterious … perhaps heartbreak should be replaced with thanksgiving for so many desires already delivered to us!
"Beloved Ish’a": Undoubtedly, Solomon/Lemuel’s counsel from his mother depicts the most excellent of women contained in Proverbs 31. In contrast we see from Solomon in Song Of Songs a different kind of “excellence” in the woman that is so desirable. The Psalmist pursues the enigma of Solomon to uncover how the woman becomes, or simply is, the perfect balance of excellence … in character AND physical attraction … as it relates to one man and one woman! Ultimately the Psalmist hones in on Solomon’s regrets to gain a better understanding of why so many man and woman relationships are doomed from the start!

As things begin to roil and boil during these continued days of Jacob’s Troubles, the Psalmist considers the times in a prophetic perspective. Looking back at the past few years what can anyone say about the times we are living in? Just more days of chaos? Just the same old … same old? Well if these days are extraordinary then both questions and answers are necessary … who is watching … who is pondering … who is going to tackle the unspeakable? What IF these are those days foretold so long ago ... if the answer is yes then where and what and who do the signs point to?
The times we live in are assuredly days of tribulation. Israel, the Jewish People and yes the Saints are under overt attack in all manner; political, economic, psychological, emotional, and physical. The level of global antisemitism has reached heights never witnessed before! The rebellion and corruption of the world’s people is both astounding and disgusting. Despite the delusion that things can simply continue, it is difficult perhaps even impossible to dismiss the probability that hazeh olam’s time is winding down. So why such silence … has the knowledge of fear of THE LORD been frozen within the hearts of people? Although MESSIAH tarries HE shall come … Bo YESHUAH Bo!
“The Boast”: What of the “man of destiny” who will bring a sword under the guise of peace … what of the man who will bring order and tame the rampant lawlessness of rebellious nation and globe … what of the man of boasting?
"Death Of Charlie": Yochana weighs in on the tragic and horrific murder of Charlie Kirk. Oh the irony of such vile wickedness when the Charlie Hebdo killings in Paris years ago is considered. In both instances we see where free speech is a common denominator … or is it? The Psalmist ponders if there is not more to the Death Of Charlie when considering the actors, motives and outcomes … hmmm!

Yochana’s nearly six-month long Aliyah through the Psalms concludes and surely it has been another eye-opening journey. Many thanks to our Psalmist for so many thought provoking and inspiring soul resonant messages. All praise and glory to the author of salvation … YESHUAH HaMASHIACH … the SON of ELOHIM!
“HE Hates Hamas”: Yochana finds relevant and timely content in another set of Psalms pertaining to these days where we find a stark contrast between Israel and those who hate GOD’s chosen people. The Hebrew word חָמָס (chamas) literally means “violence” but through inference translates also as: unjust, cruel, oppressive, deceitful, unrighteous and malicious. This word is used 60 times in Scriptures and not surprisingly 14 times within the Psalms where we find numerous lamentations by David and other Psalmists.
Our own Psalmist Yochana brings this dynamic to light as Israel’s foes rise up in these horrid days of rabid antisemitism … days in which Israel finds few supporters and more shockingly the terrorists Hamas find support in places where they should be condemned. There is much in a “name” and as for “Hamas” and the liberation of "Palestine" … well the names and the WORDs say it all! … So how many protesters, rioters and rebels in Western Nations even know who they march for? Worse yet do they realize they will be held accountable to their own testimony? Do they consider that "Palestine" is simply a "Latinized version of Philistine" used by the Romans to define the region after the Jews were exiled from THEIR land ... that the Philistines themselves ceased being a people by the 5th Century BCE?
As the Apostle Paul stated: "It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of THE LIVING God" and HE IS coming back to Earth to balance the scales. The soul resonance can be found at the Psalmist's Tribulation site page.
"Starlight": In total contrast to “Hamas”, a horrific name, Yochana ponders the far too wonderful. Psalm 147 reveals how ELOHIM hath dictated the names of the stars of Heaven and Yochana ponders how Abraham was promised offspring as numerous as the stars in the sky. Even how much more through YESHUAH are the faithful offspring looking forward to a white stone and new name in the world to come? Indeed, there is much in a name … for both tov and ra (good and bad). So, do twinkle little star as we ponder your name and more so the new names that will be given to the “children of light”!
